Our
field trips are geared towards preschool to 5th
grade students. We offer a 45-minute educational
tour featuring an authentic tipi at our gourd
station and our miniature donkeys "Achilles" and
"Flower" in our petting zoo.
The 45-minute, fun filled educational tour
includes demonstrations on pumpkins, gourds and
Indian corn.
The children will learn how pumpkins are grown and
about different sizes and colors of pumpkins. They
will also get
a history lesson on how the Native American
Indians used gourds and Indian corn and how we use
them today. The tour also includes a walk through
the pumpkin patch to
pick out a pie pumpkin, an ear of Indian corn, a
gourd, a
trip through the corn maze, and a trip through the
petting zoo. The children will also receive a bag
which will be handy for carrying their pumpkin,
gourd, and Indian corn.
The cost of the tour is as follows:

Children:
$6.00
Teachers
(2 per class): Free
Parents:
$2.50
We also have an optional activity for the
children to participate in. They can build a
scarecrow for their class, school or home. All
they have to do is pick out the clothes, stuff
with straw and design the face. This is a popular
activity for classes and the kids love to have a
reminder of the fun they had at the pumpkin patch
in their classroom for the Halloween/harvest
season. The cost for this activity is as follows:

Scarecrow:
$10.00
